Our extensive range of sensible policies exist to ensure the smooth running of our kindergarten and for the safety of your children.
We are very pleased to announce that we have been given our Assessment and Rating under the National Quality Framework for our Centre.
Our service has been given an EXCEEDING NATIONAL QUALITY STANDARD rating!!
We are pleased to keep our Exceeding rating from our last A&R a few years ago.
We would like to take this opportunity to say thankyou to our wonderful team of educators for their tireless work and dedication to Early Childhood Education, and for making GSK such a great place for children and families to attend and thrive.
Thankyou also to our parent run Committee of Management and our Educational Leadership team who supported us to achieve such a fantastic result!
Operating independently since 1965 Golden Square Kindergarten would like to thank our local Golden Square Community, extended Bendigo Community, families and children for continuing to choose our service.

We are pleased to announce that Golden Square Kindergarten has been assessed and rated against the seven Quality Areas of the National Quality Standard and the Education and Care Services National Regulations. We received an overall rating of ‘Exceeding’ by being rated ‘Exceeding’ in all seven areas in October 2017.

At Golden Square Kindergarten we are committed to the safety and wellbeing of children in our care. All educators at our service are guided by the Child Safe Standards from the Commission for Children and young people.
Understanding the Child Safe Standards
The new Child Safe Standards came into force in Victoria on 1 July 2022.
The 11 Child Safe Standards are listed below. Organisations who are required to comply with the Standards need to implement all aspects of the 11 Standards.
Each of the Standards is expressed as a statement of an expected outcome that organisations must achieve. The new Standards also include minimum requirements, to provide more clarity for your organisation about what you need to do.
Standard 1
Organisations establish a culturally safe environment in which the diverse and unique identities and experiences of Aboriginal children and young people are respected and valued.
Standard 2
Child safety and wellbeing is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture.
Standard 3
Children and young people are empowered about their rights, participate in decisions affecting them and are taken seriously.
Standard 4
Families and communities are informed and involved in promoting child safety and wellbeing.
Standard 5
Equity is upheld and diverse needs respected in policy and practice.
Standard 6
People working with children and young people are suitable and supported to reflect child safety and wellbeing values in practice.
Standard 7
Processes for complaints and concerns are child-focused.
Standard 8
Staff and volunteers are equipped with the knowledge, skills and awareness to keep children and young people safe through ongoing education and training.
Standard 9
Physical and online environments promote safety and wellbeing while minimising the opportunity for children and young people to be harmed.
Standard 10
Implementation of the Child Safe Standards is regularly reviewed and improved.
Standard 11
Policies and procedures document how the organisation is safe for children and young people.
